The Black Canyon Surgical Center was developed by Boyer Healthcare Properties as the cornerstone of the Black Canyon Medical Properties project, completed in 2006. Boyer's involvement in the project came through its ongoing partnership with Nueterra Healthcare, Leawood, Kansas. Nueterra Healthcare is contracted by the surgical center to provide operations management services.  Black Canyon Medical Properties, a group of local medical professionals acting initially as owners of the overall development, contracted with Boyer Healthcare to perform development services for the surgical center -2 MOB project.  These services included construction management, city planning, budget supervision and ongoing update and interaction with the physician investors. The overall project will service the medical needs of residents along Colorodo’s Western Slope region.

This project consists of a 14,489 SF ambulatory surgical center with two conjoining 5,000 SF MOB spaces attached via common entrance. The physicians owned condo spaces are occupied by medical professionals also acting as investors in adjacent surgical center. The underlying purpose in constructing such an ambulatory surgical center is to allow physician investors to own medical real estate in this rural community in which they practice medicine.  This facility was designed as a build-to-suit project as designed by project architect, Marasco and Associates, Inc, Denver, Colorado.
