The Kansas City Imaging Center was developed as a state of the art diagnostic imaging facility. Boyer Healthcare Properties, a division of The Boyer Company, was contacted by AGI Healthcare, a consulting group working with Providence Medical Center and United Imaging Consultants. Providence Medical Center and United Imaging Consultants had agreed to form a joint venture which would operate the imaging center. This joint venture had no desire to own the real estate; therefore, Boyer Healthcare Properties was contacted and chosen as the developer for the project. Working closely with AGI, the imaging center consultant, the development team evaluated a number of different design options. Given the projects relatively small size, cost was a significant factor in the design meetings. Eventually, a building design was chosen that is efficient in its layout and economical in its construction and ongoing maintenance.
