Draper Crossing required the assembly of ten individual parcels and the relocation of a number of existing and operating businesses. At the time the development was proposed, the City of Draper was very restrictive and wanted to retain, at all costs, the rural environment of their city. Draper City requested that the architectural elements of the project reflect a Draper-esque look. The City then defined Draper-esque as being "very country." VCBO Architects worked diligently to create a reasonable mix between country and contemporary design elements. The design was approved by the City.
