He was the project manager for the 2.1 million square foot Gateway development in downtown Salt Lake City, Utah. In 2006, Jake was appointed as President of The Boyer Company and in 2011, became President and CEO. Jake took a temporary leave of absence between 2017-2020, accepting an invitation from his church to serve with his family in Germany. Jake returned to The Boyer Company as CEO in 2020.
